MacOs Catalina and Notability Issues

Is anyone else having issues with notability causing your macbook to overheat and drain the battery after updating to MacOs Catalina? I already submitted a request to notability to look at this but I just wanted to see if it was an isolated problem on my end or if other people are having this issue as well.

Finally got a reply from Notability! Here's what they said:

"Thanks for getting in touch and sorry for the trouble! We recently introduced Document Scanning which may take more effort than usual, while your previous images index, so it may drain the battery faster than normal and make your device warm. Once all of your images have been processed, though, things should return to normal.

Please let us know if things haven't settled down, and we can investigate further."

Soo considering I have 700 lectures on notability, I got a feeling this is gonna take a while. I think I might just plug in my macbook overnight and let it run its course (probably gonna have to pop open my window to help keep it cool). I think I'll give it a shot tonight and let u know how it is tomorrow. Really hoping that this is the solution...

I have a 2015 Macbook Pro and it used to last 7 to 8 hours. Then I upgraded to Catalina and the next time I used it I got maybe 2 1/2 hours, it runs hot. Activity monitor doesn't tell me much is abnormal. If this is what Apple does, I am going to move back over to IBM computers again. I loved my Mac, but now I am very disappointed for the first time in years with Mac. I really want to go back to the previous ios I had.
