iCloud icons

After upgrading to macOS Catalina many of my icons in my documents folder have change from a folder icon to a page icon. My documents are stored on iCloud. None of the folders stored on the hard drive have this problem. It just affects about 20% of all the folders on iCloud documents.

Example

I have getting info. I can past the correct folder icon in the info of the ones with the wrong folder icon but this seems like a bad idea.

Even though the icons look like pages they still work like folders.

Hello Jessie Dasher and thanks for being a part of Apple Support Communities.

I see you're having an issue with how some folders display in Finder after updating to Catalina.

As you report this only happens with folders stored in iCloud, it may just be a case of the sync between your Mac and iCloud needing a bit more time to complete. If this continues, a simple step such as a reboot of the Mac may resolve it.

If a straight reboot does not resolve this, try safe mode.

Cheers.
