just updated imac and macbook pro to catalina. both share the same lan. now get message
"The operation can’t be completed because the original item for “Documents” can’t be found." even though we've been sharing files for years.
found a reference to a similar problem on the macos catalina community. the suggestion was to go into preferences -> sharing and turn off file sharing (uncheck the entry), restart the computer, turn file sharing back on. did this on both machines and am now able to share files with no trouble.
found a solution in another community. thanks anyway.
