Hi GavinFoo,
Thanks for posting! I understand you might be having an issue with waking your MacBook Pro from sleep, and I'm glad to help.
To troubleshoot, I recommend starting with this resource: If your Mac doesn't sleep or wake when expected
"If your Mac doesn't wake when you expect
Your Mac might pause a few seconds before it wakes up. If it doesn't seem to wake at all, check for these possibilities:
If this doesn't seem to apply to what's happening, try these troubleshooting steps below. Safe mode and the test user account in particular may be helpful in narrowing down the issue:

Cheers!
That works also JKN1 !
Same! Except my enclosure is Thunderbolt 3. It happens even if they aren't connect though, so I don't think it actually has anything to do with them.
I confirm. This worked for me too.
My macbook pro is SSD and I still get the issue, upgraded to the latest update on Sunday and no crash so far.
Hmm. What attached devices that caused crash before your update? OWC Thunderbay RAID Drives like mine? Or? Maybe we have different reasons for sleep crashes.
Sometimes it also crashes out bluetooth. Does anyone else have that issue?
I had this problem too.
No procedure and no support could provide any help.
There's one remedy, if you happen NOT to have a new machine: Downgrade to Mojave...
Are you saying you have "Drive Docs/OWC"? They are telling me that I'm the only one who has contacted them with this issue.
No, I have (what are the most common Harddisc-brands?). These.
So you get sleep crashes? If so external mechanical hard drive sleeping may be the bug in Catalina Apple haven’t fixed?
Hm. Possible. As I said, I downgraded to Mojave because Catalina was not suiting my needs. (Not least because of those constant crashes—on sleep as much as on shut down.
I'm having same problem, my mac crashed like more 15 times today after it goes to sleep mode. Apple please fix this issue ASAP.
My new MacBook 2019 has the same problem, the new update 10.15.2 does not solve the problem, hope Apple will come up with something better
I'm pretty sure this is ploy to make us buy new MacBooks. This is the kind of thing that makes me want a PC; well this and the price of Macs.
Well, the mac book slept for over 12 hours and no crash on opening, which is interesting.
Will continue to monitor and report if something changes.
