I am trying to pair my iPhone with the new Music app (Catalina). I receive the code, but the remote button is not where it used to be; the upper left hand corner of the "iTunes window" as the instructions on my phone say. Is it possible Remote has been un-supported in Catalina?
I downloaded the newest version of the Remote app to my iPad and the first time I ran the app it automatically synced with my iMac. No button needed. Works great!
That is correct, unfortunately.
Looks like the new update to the Remote app fixes this. Try it.

What possible good could this be to anyone? Is there something coming down the pike that will make this okay? I have recently suffered a stroke and this would have made my life suck just a little bit less. Definitely unsatisfactory.
Just so I understand correctly. If you use iTunes on your mac as your home music system and have it connected to your home speaker system. You can no longer use your iwatch and iPhone to control that via remote?
Thank you Apple for removing features in Catalina so that our Apple Watches which we pay hundreds of dollars for no longer work with your product. You put the Remote Icon on the watch and we expect to be able to use it as we always have. You have also removed Widgets in Catalina which I have used for a long time. Catalina is also having problems with Energy Saving Mode which must be a new feature to keep Technical Support People employed.

LIkewise, why are we moving backward, away from the user experience and into the nether world of developer whim? I wonder if I leave a complaint on Feedback Assistant if anyone will get the message.
I have tried it but still can't figure it out - there doesn't seem to be an option to activate the remote feature - any ideas?
Yes! The new Remote App works. Just go to System Preferences > Sharing and check Media Sharing and then turn on Home Sharing. Any device logged in to the same Apple ID will be able to play media on the Mac's Music App.
I could not agree more - what an absolutely stupid decision! Is there somewhere we can write to to get the Remote reactivated?
