Here is my thread with yahoo mail support earlier this month. Which by the way it did not resolve it. And when I indicated that I still think the problem is with Yahoo Mail app they said it resides on the IOS side.

Yahoo apps work best on the latest version of the iOS software. Before trying any of the steps below check you have the latest version of iOS. If you're using an iOS beta version, try updating to the latest official iOS release.
- Force stop and restart the app
- When you force stop an app it refreshes the active memory for the app.
- Restart the device
- If you're still having problems with the app after you restart the device, the app could be corrupt.
- Uninstall and reinstall the app
- It's possible the app has become corrupt. Install a fresh copy of the app to fix this problem.
