My voice texting in yahoo email on my iphone 7 is malfunctioning. After one word, it goes back to the beginning of the sentence

last time I called Apple about anything I got a feeling this guy was just answering the phone from his living room. He didn’t know anything he was basically googling answers. I am having the same problem with the dictation. Be very very careful what you click on Google for Yahoo support I got burned very badly to the tune of $300 a few months ago because I did this. I’m wondering if a real Yahoo support even exists

Umm, err, well yes, this problem may be unique to Yahoo, but it ONLY started happening after the latest Apple update.

The changes Apple made in the update are the cause of the problem.

So, WHO caused the problem?

Even IF the Yahoo software is the problem, it was still caused by the Apple update. So Apple has to bear some responsibility, AND might want to help solve this problem to keep iphone owners happy.

(Actually, I will take full responsibility. I actually caused the problem by updating my phone. OK, I take responsibility. If I hadn't updated my phone with the new Apple IOS, my voice text on Yahoo would still be working.)

Apple makes changes that developers have to accommodate.

Yahoo knew about any changes to the keyboard. They had the code before it was released. They must supply an update to be compatible.

Apple did not cause this. Otherwise all apps using this keyboard would behave the same.

So, when Apple makes an IOS change developers must change their software to accommodate.

OK, now I understand. Everyone needs to accommodate Apple's new IOS. That's fair, after all it is an Apple phone.

But you might think that Apple would have some concern for their customers and at least try to help solve the problem.

Or, perhaps, allow me to uninstall the new update.

All I know is that my dictation on Yahoo was working before I installed the Apple update.

"Apple did not cause this?" Seriously? It was working before I installed Apple's update.

You posted this last month. Have you gotten anywhere with it? I have just read dozens of posts all from people with the same problem. I too have this problem and have been going rounds with apple and yahoo and no one seems to be able to help. I am so frustrated, I don't know what to do. I would like to find out if since all these posts anyone has had any resolution at all?

It has been a month and no positive response at all on this problem.

Apple disclaims any responsibility "It's a Yahoo software problem."

It probably is a Yahoo problem -- it is their app that won't allow dictation with the new Apple upgrade.

Yahoo has done nothing.

My plan is to leave Yahoo and go to Gmail.

I have been a loyal Yahoo user for over a decade, but this problem makes my account unusable.

I received a notice from Apple on 11/6 that Yahoo! responded to my review of their iPhone app. The message from Yahoo! read:

"Yes! We are aware of this issue and we are working on a fix. We do apologize for the inconvenience."

Hopefully they will get to this soon. It’s irritating.

I cannot use the microphone to add text to compose a email on my yahoo email. However, I can use the microphone to voice text anywhere else except my yahoo email. I have an iPhone 8 plus. There are no software updates as of now that need to be installed. Are used to could dictate on my email but not anymore. What is the problem?

I have the same issue on both my iPhone 11 Pro and my iPad pro. Yahoo mail is the only app I have this issue with. I can dictate a word or 2 (if I talk fast), then I hear the ding, as if I've cancelled dictation, and the cursor goes to the beginning.

Following advice on this board to update to 6.2 it appears as though the problem has been fixed. Do not understand why this was not done automatically through updates and required that I go to the update app in order to get this correction implemented.

One last note: When I look at the installed App in the App store (tap my face in the upper right) says version 6.1.5. When I search for the App in the app store is says version 6.2 (and shows it installed) and the App itself says version 6.2. Yahoo certainly seems to have some quality issues and maybe this is why it is not auto installing?

At least they seem to finally have fixed this voice to text issue and now I can use Yahoo mail again to write emails!

I am having the same problem on my work phone which is an iPhone 8. It actually has all of the Apple apps stripped off of it except for a few, but dictation will not work to send text messages or to dictate in the mail app.

I had the same problem with Yahoo email / iphone. It turned out to be a Yahoo problem not being compatible with the latest Apple update. Yahoo has fixed this problem and dictation now works for me in Yahoo email. Try getting the latest version of Yahoo Mail App.

I can dictate in the Apple mail program and in messenger but not in Yahoo mail. After a few words the dictation stops and the cursor returns to the beginning of the text.
