3rd party browser issues under catalina?

I'm running Catalina and most things are fine except for this:

every so often - usually after being active for most of the day - my other browsers (not safari) will be unable to access websites. they respond as if my internet connection has dropped, but it clearly hasn't. safari can still get out the door to everything. and my phone & other devices are fine. i'm talking specifically firefox & chrome. a restart of my machine typically fixes the issue.

once, the issue was 'fixed' in firefox by changing the url for the website - i copied what safari was using (no idea why they would have been different.

has anyone else seen anything like this?I did the upgrade about a week ago & I've seen this occurrence twice in the last couple of days.

thanks for any info

Exactly the same boat. Long hours away from computer or overnight, and Firefox won't connect to websites. Restarting my iMac fixes the problem. Who wants to do that every time? I also use Sophos, and I find that box pops up every time I restart, even though I took action the first time I encountered it.

Wondering if you have found a fix for this yet?

Thanks
