external keyboard issue afer upgrading to catalina

I think this is related to: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/250729737

For some reason the external keyboards (not only mac keyboards) are not working properly after upgrading to catalina.

Doing what is recommended in the other thread works for me:

1. Open the activity monitor panel
2. Find "com.apple.hiservices-xpcservice" and terminate it
3. Unplug/plug keyboard

Does it not work at all, or just some keys? Do you know what the keyboard model number is?
