external keyboard issue afer upgrading to catalina

Hi everyone! My external USB keyboard (made by Apple) doesn't work after upgrading my OS to Catalina. Any suggestions what to do?

For some reason the external keyboards (not only mac keyboards) are not working properly after upgrading to catalina.


Doing what is recommended in the other thread works for me:


  1. Open the activity monitor panel
  2. Find "com.apple.hiservices-xpcservice" and terminate it
  3. Unplug/plug keyboard
