Delete photos after airdrop

More of a question about functionality. The situation - I save photos from various sources for different reasons. Some personal, some professional. I want to select larger quantity’s of photos from my iPhone and airdrop them to my iPad. The photos of spaced out among other photos I don’t wish to be transferred. On previous iOS I was able to airdrop and once that was completed I would return to the share sheet where I could then delete the photos as they’re no longer required on the iPhone. Since updating to the latest iOS 13 this function seems to of disappeared. I’ll airdrop a large amount of photos and then it’ll return to the share sheet screen for a split second before unselecting my photos causing me to have to re-select them all again to delete.

i was hoping for a solution in the new iOS or something I am missing.

I'm using

iPhone XS Max running iOS 13.1.2

iPad Pro running iPadOS 13.1.2

iPhone XS Max
