Update from watchOS 5.3.2 to 6.0.1

My apple watch 4 updated to 5.3.2 a couple of days ago. I got a new iPhone today that supports iOS 13 and wanted to updated to watchOS 6.0.1, however when I check for new watchOS versions I get a message that 5.3.2 is the latest version.

Is 5.3.1 the only version that allows jumping to watchOS 6? Are 5.3.2 users stuck?

Apple Watch Series 4 WatchOS 5.3 paired with iPhone X iOS 13.1.2 won’t update to WatchOS 6 I recently retrieved my Apple Watch Series 4 (on watchOS 5.3) from a month of storage and when I re-paired it with my iPhone X with the latest iOS 13.1.2, the only watchOS update that I see on the Watch app is for watchOS 5.3.2. If I am not mistaken, watchOS 6 should be the one available given the devices I own. Do I need to update first to that version before being able to move on to the latter or might there be an issue? I definitely want to be on watchOS 6. Thank you.

watch 7 does not show update to 8.1.1 My new Apple Watch 7 was updated to watch os 8.1. iPhone 12 Pro has os 15.1.1. I go to watch app on phone / general / software update and it tells me 8.1 is latest version.

Apple released watch os 6 for series 3,4&5. Series 1 and 2 will get watch os 6 from 6.1 update. Wait for that. It will be coming anytime soon.
