Constantly being asked for Apple ID in macOS Catalina

I am always being asked by the System to login to my Apple ID to update settings.

I have to do this everytime I log into my Mac.

After I have entered all the passwords, i.e. Apple ID password, Mac password, iPhone PIN, it will still ask me later for the same things. Sometimes there will be multiple requests.

I have been using Catalina since beta. It has always been a problem.

Please advise.

Thanks,

David.

Do you have an iOS device running iOS 13.x?

In my case there was a direct correlation between waking my iPhone

and the notification badge popping up and subsequent "Update AppleID".

The signing out and signing back in did absolutely nothing.

The solution I found, was to disable the "Find My" in iCloud settings

on my Mac. After that, no more stinking badges and it has been two

days now. There must be a bug in the "Find My" app on Catalina.

On a desktop, the temporary fix is probably not a big issue but

on a laptop, which one could carry most anywhere and get it stolen

or lost, that ca be a big issue.

To see if it is your particular issue, simply go through the "update"

nonsense, then sleep your iDevice and then wake it. For me it would

be a matter of seconds before the notification badge popped up

on my Mac.
