Catalina bluetooth issues - audio output switches intermittently

Yes I meet the requirements with 4GB RAM, and I have 50 GB Available SSD Space. I'll have to check for those error messages later. I just did a full reinstall from macOS recovery by wiping the partition and installing Catalina around a week ago.

I don’t know. Have you read this post?. It depends on what there is to admit. There are many types of bluetooth disconnection issues. If anyone could figure out them all. Then, one can systemize the issues.

I have the same problem with Creative iRoar GO bluetooth speaker. It doesn't work correctly via bluetooth (it works via USB). I tried to delete files meant above and create aggregate device in MIDI configurator, but the sound was muffled, I think it was just from the subwoofer.

Looking forward to un-bug this problem.

Today has been the worst day in a very long time, so far, after 5 hours of work, the headphones have changed sound source 5 times (6 times now, they just stopped working while i was writing this), the magic mouse have dropped it's bluetooth connection 2 times and the magic keyboard 1 time. It is so extremely annoying. Im on 10.15.3.

Unbelievable that this is still broken.

Apple needs to fix this as ASAP as possible.

The 300$ Sony headphones I buyed to use for work are completely useless with this bug.

This is obviously a software issue that started popping up with Catalina. I don't see a reason why this couldn't be fixed.

This lack of reactivity from Apple on such a serious issue is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE!!

We use headphones for profesionnal TCs, to call our family, to watch movies..My Mac loses 50% of its value if I cannot stably connect my headphones!!

I have tried different Bose headphones and speakers, all connected via Bluetooth. The connection goes and come randomly! When I did the reset process it worked for a few hours and then the problem reoccured.

Ignoring this issue is a very low shot from Apple. I am super disappointed!

Chiming in on this thread with the same frustration. A brand new pair of WH1000XM3 headphones (with the latest firmware, straight from the factory) frequently switch to the internal speakers on my MacbookPro - and can't be switched back.

Upgraded today to 10.15.4 but still the same issue of getting static noise on my Bluetooth headset. I'm not sure if anytime Apple is watching the thread and prioritising this issue which everyone is facing. This is basic which should be working and they have screwed it up with Catalina.

It looks like 10.15.4 solved some users's sound problems; it didn't for me. I can connect with either my Sony WH-H900N or my Isotune Pro headphones but I will get no sound and after about a minute they disconnect. I didn't have this problem before installing Catalina. I'm still looking for a fix.

I experience the same problem and it's super annoying especially nowadays, we all have to use our headphones intensively for work-from-home interactions. It's disappointing when I find out that others have reported this issue for half a year and Apple has not taken any action. Too bad we're too dependent on Apple and there's no better option from my perspective.

However, with that being said, I have developed a mindset that I'll switch as soon as possible when there's a better brand, even though the possibility is extremely limited.

I have the same problem. With Bose 700 headphones and AirPods. The problem first happened after I started using Bose 700. I do not remember this happening with AirPods before (I've been using them for ~2 years).

What I tried: removing bluetooth profiles and reseting NVRAM (the latter seems to help temporarily - for a day or two).

Could you fix it, please. My music suddenly switches in the middle of a track and it is so uncomfortable, especially if my Macbook internal speakers volume is high and there're people around =(

I have updated to 10.15.6 — MacBook Air audio is not routing through bluetooth to my devices: Plantronics headphones or TaoTronics receiver. It actually WAS working with 10.15.5; I updated 3 days ago and audio has not routed through bluetooth since — it pairs with the device (shows connection in Bluetooth Preferences), it shows as being routed through the device in Audio Preferences, but the audio only comes out of the internal speakers. What the what?!

I have just phoned to Apple. They keep with the same old protocol PRAM, SMC, Safe boot, Reinstall and finally format completely and reinstall Catalina (craptalina). They do not offer any solutions. They do not even scale the problem to engineers. Finally I have hang up the phone since their attention has not been very polite.

i have the same version of catalina --5-- on a macbook pro and a imac 27 ... bose mini works on the desktop but fails on macbook - even though it connects and all that, but drops after a minute or less...havent tried other devices yet... Thanks to everyone for researching this problem... apple is in no hurry to resolve it, it seems Maybe in the NEXT thrilling OS !

Apple has not fixed it yet. And I think that the won't do it. Perhaps in Big Sur a fix could be included. As you can see in this discussion we all are frustrated and hungry with Apple's attitude towards user's needs.
