Safari not responding to mouse in full screen

Hey All,

Since updating to OSX Catalina I've been having a problem with Safari.

Whenever I have pages/tabs open Safari will work okay for some time (the duration changes. it's not set.) and after that, whenever I have a video I use in full screen, it stops responding to mouse clicks. (for instance to minimise a YouTube window.) It also doesn't respond to the movement of the mouse to show me the timeline underneath the screen so I can change the point in the video.

I can see the pointer appear and move, but for the rest the screen is unresponsive to the mouse. When I press esc. on the keyboard the screen minimises and everything works perfectly again until I go full screen in that tab again.

When I close the tab and do the same thing in a new/different one it works normally again for some time, and then the same thing happens.

It's really annoying and it's starting to bug me that I need to keep opening and closing new tabs all the time.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Are you running any anti - virus programs? Using a VPN?

Try setting up another admin user account in System Preferences/Users & Groups to see if the same problem continues. Please post back on whether or not this worked. Also try the Safe Mode. Please post back on whether or not this worked.

Safe Mode - About

If it works in the Safe Mode, try running this program when booted normally and then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor.  Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown. If the log won’t post, try posting it in Pastebin and provide a link in a reply. After pasting the report in a PasteBin page, go to the top of the page, and copy the address in the URL bar. Paste that in a new reply.        Pastebin
