Upgrade from High Sierra to Catalina for MacBook Pro mid 2012

Me too. argh!! 5 days ago iphone mysteriously bcame disabled. 4 hour apple chat ended worthless. Frustrated, I took plunge to install Catalina upgrade over my High Sierra. Catalina dwnloaded ok, but now MBP mid2012 w/Catalina OS refuses to allow system preferences to open. Coincidentally now iphone and 1 other iOS device problematic!!

You aren't alone ma' friend. I cringe at the thought of having to visit the "Genius Bar" for fear they'll conclude i need to send in for repair!

I'm gonna continue on to seek out answers to this regretful predicament.

Hi,

You'd better take bootable clone backup with SuperDuper! or CCC or a like utility before upgrade to Catalina.

Also you should remember that 32bit Apps disappear after upgrading to Catalina.
