no, the lcd is broken, burn in or just died.
did you drop it somewhere? i never saw something like this without impacts.

yes, i did drop it a couple of times but display was working fine and developed this dark spot and lines later.
there is no warranty on this for sure, split happens.
just bring it inside the genius bar and get the LCD replaced. or get a new iphone :-)
