IOS 13.1.3 battery drain

Well I guess another update, another waste of time as the bugs on the iPhone XR are still there. Weird battery drain. IT SHOULD HAVE MORE THAN A DAY'S LIFE OF BATTERY. I had to change my device for another one and its the same problem. When will apple wake up and start fixing this important battery drain issues. Apple support is stating a ' Hardware Problem' No I don' think so as everyone is complaining on these pages about how bad the software is and need a fix. My battery is at 100% capacity. It is a problem with the SOFTWARE. Also stop sending us links to apple's pages about lithium-ion batteries and how they work, battery performance etc... ITS A NEW PHONE. We need this fixed. Especially on the iPhone XR which should have more than a day's battery life!!! WAKE UP APPLE!! WE BUY PRODUCTS WITH A LOT OF EFFORT FOR SPENDING MONEY AND WE GET THIS IN RETURN. I know I'm angry but I've just had enough of this nonsense!!! :(

Ever since 13.1.1 my iphone7 will drain out even when powered off and being plugged in to power. 13.1.3 did not fix the problem. This is a serious ios bug. Once charged to 100% the phone will also require rebooting 5-10 times where the battery indicator will show almost 0% and the show 100% on reboot and bice versa. i have the screenshots to prove it.

What makes the phone drain out within an hour despite being plugged in and turned off???

Ok. What if I’ve had a new phone for a week, exchanged it for another new one ( have it for 3 weeks) and the battery drain still persisted. I downloaded all apps myself using a New Apple ID. Also, there’s no point of being harsh ( I was giving a rhetorical example) I’ve just made this important post especially for all people who have been having these issues that’s all. It’s not an app, it’s a software issue. I have my word..

If people are commenting on YouTube, Reddit, Twitter etc ... Even I-device. Then it’s not something easy to clear up. Lots of people may not be having problems but many have seen this persist through iOS 13 from the very start .

I would have to disagree that having a bad app that is doing this isn't the problem for everyone.

As I stated I have a newer (less than a year old) XS and had no issues with iOS12; in fact it was amazing. I still had no issues after iOS 13 and then the subsequent patches but the latest update iOS 13.1.3 has effected my battery life. I have not downloaded any new apps and have no heavy use. I have turned off the Optimized Battery Charging as another poster suggested. I will see if this helps any.

Sorry to say this but I’ve tried multiple times ( More people as well ) In fact I reinstalled the iOS 13 software through iTunes on my Mac ( latest version ) and on my iPhone through iCloud backup. I’ve also put it into recovery mode twice and reinstalled the version. I guess that’s it. We just have to wait for IOS 13.2 to release to the Public.

I agree with Oscar-24!!!!

my phone was fine and I put off updating fto

13.1.2 to iOS 13.1.3 until my phone forced me to. Just after I did something flashed across my screen about my battery. It was so fast I have no idea what it said. Something about the battery life and charging it over night and 80%. During the day I’m at work and not on my phone so it really should not drain much. And it didn’t until iOS 13.1.3. So there’s definitely a sw issue

now apple needs a fix to fix 13.1.3😡

Not “all” devices. Some do some don’t. But the point that I’m trying to make is devices old and new are experiencing this...

At any given moment, some small percentage of iOS devices in existence will develop problems. And some of them are going to develop problems right after upgrading. That does not, by itself, mean the upgrade is the problem. But, people tend to assume that the correlation does imply causality because (and I agree) troubleshooting is seriously unfun.

All I can tell you is that the internet is plastered with complaints about this battery problem and all occurring since this recent upgrade.

Moreover, how can you explain that my iphone 7 and my wife's older 6S are experiencing the exact same problems since this upgrade?

Another irritating thing is that the phone will occasionally reboot itself (about two times a day) my wife's phone too?

Yes, we have done all the troubleshooting steps, hard boot etc, bit the problems persist.

This morning, both phones experienced automatic reboot and before the power level was 100%. On reboot 8%

Then when manually rebooted, back to 100% and nothing plugged in to the phone.

I cannot accept that the issue is with two different phones eg; 7 and 6S When, the problems have only occurred after the respective upgrades.

In my opinion and others online, there appears to be a bug in the software not the hardware.

And, Apple is aware of the problem and are working on a fix for this known issue.

Of course, Apple will only ever tell you this over the phone because, they lough to wash their laundry in public.

If you do not believe this, take a look at almost all Apple online responses to issues!

All I can tell you is that every, and I mean EVERY time iOS has been updated in the past 12 years the Internet is "plastered with complaints about this battery problem". Plastered being a relative number, somewhere between a dozen and a few hundred. This update is no different; in fact, the number of complaints for iOS 13.1.3 is vanishingly small compared to many other updates, INCLUDING iOS 12, which you are sure never had a problem.

You are, of course, free to believe whatever you want, but the probability that it is specifically the update that is the problem and not some app misbehaving is vanishingly small. When iOS 13.2 comes out it may or may not fix YOUR problem, but that doesn't prove that it was still 13.1.3. And I absolutely guarantee that whether it fixes your problem or not others will post messages similar to yours claiming that 13.2 killed their battery life, which was great with 13.1.3. This is a pattern that has been repeated dozens of times in 12 years.

Guys , this could help- Follow this video and all its steps even the last one, to do a hard reset on your phone...(restart)
Also I’m keeping it on low power mode for now until the update arrives.
It may not work but it’s worth the try!

Why did you link to a video, rather than just state the steps? Doing so would have saved users several minutes. Of course, you might not get a click credit for the video.
