IOS 13.1.3 battery drain

Well I guess another update, another waste of time as the bugs on the iPhone XR are still there. Weird battery drain. IT SHOULD HAVE MORE THAN A DAY'S LIFE OF BATTERY. I had to change my device for another one and its the same problem. When will apple wake up and start fixing this important battery drain issues. Apple support is stating a ' Hardware Problem' No I don' think so as everyone is complaining on these pages about how bad the software is and need a fix. My battery is at 100% capacity. It is a problem with the SOFTWARE. Also stop sending us links to apple's pages about lithium-ion batteries and how they work, battery performance etc... ITS A NEW PHONE. We need this fixed. Especially on the iPhone XR which should have more than a day's battery life!!! WAKE UP APPLE!! WE BUY PRODUCTS WITH A LOT OF EFFORT FOR SPENDING MONEY AND WE GET THIS IN RETURN. I know I'm angry but I've just had enough of this nonsense!!! :(

OK, do this-->Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support

Don't log in to iCloud, install any apps or add any email accounts, and check your battery life for a day. If your battery life is still bad restore your phone using iTunes so it gets a fresh copy of iOS 13. Report the results. If battery life is OK log in to iCloud. Test again for a day.

If battery life is still OK restore your backup and test again. If battery life gets worse you have a defective app. Start with Facebook as a likely suspect.

Just to add my two cents to the ios 13.1.3 issues. I am sure Apple does care about its customers. Software updates are very complex and it takes time to decide what is wrong, how best to solve the issue and once solved all the regression tests that need to be done to insure the new fix is not worse than the last one. It will take some time before a software update is released but I would bet my iphone that they are working on a fix for the latest update.

Exactly the same issue that is happening to both my iphone 7 and my wifes iphone 6S

Apple must know about this situation. What are they doing to resolve the problem?

Remember everyone, we all have the choice to buy phones from other providers if Apple do not care to take care of its customers!

What BS!!!!! If it affected all iOS 13 devices you would see millions of posts about it. Literally, as there are hundreds of millions of devices that are running on iOS 13.1.3.

At any given moment, some small percentage of iOS devices in existence will develop problems. And some of them are going to develop problems right after upgrading. That does not, by itself, mean the upgrade is the problem. But, people tend to assume that the correlation does imply causality because (and I agree) troubleshooting is seriously unfun.

Ok I agree. So as a level 10 user, What do you suggest to the “small percentage of iOS devices” -including me that face this problem and what we should do? ( restoring - done it twice, hard reset, Recovery mode - twice, looked online for settings that’s should be turned off in iOS 13. iTunes as well..

I agree!! Also how can Daily Mail be talking about this issue? Surely it’s just a “small percentage of iOS devices?”

Let's say for a moment that your observation is correct. That some rogue app that behaved well under iOS 12 is now sucking batteries dry under iOS 13. What tools are available to us mortals to determine just which application is sucking my iOS 13 battery dry but not my wife's iOS 12 battery?

Naturally, screen time and battery usage are not directly related. I can see the screen usage just fine but when I attempt to view Battery Usage, all I get is hyphens. Is there some voodoo involved in getting these percentages to display?

I agree with my fellow friend Lokgeetin. We are all trying/ attempting to solve this issue rather than stating steps that have been already said “ Go to Apple Store ( they won’t help and many people don’t have the time to go to the Apple Store“

“Check battery health percentage”

“Rogue apps may be the problem”

“small amount of IOS devices”.

If apple don’t fix issues then “many” not “all” will lose trust. That’s just how it is.

Rather than contradicting me and others by linking posts and saying stuff that don’t make sense. You are a level 10 user. I agree you may have more intelligent answers and expertise in this topic but you don’t really show a lot. (I’ve contacted Apple Support - they would say the same thing ) I know this is a user to user forum but surely this post has made an affect in the forum and across the internet. Although, it’s not made a big difference there is “hope.”

We have the same issue. iPhone 6s, running perfectly under iOS12. Unfortunately upgraded to 13.1.3 and now the battery drops in 10 minutes from 100% to 10%.

This is obviously a scam from Apple, to try to force older iPhone users to buy a new one.

Apple: Fix this issue!

Same same on my iPhone X.

Disturbingly, my wife’s iphone7 battery was 55% before going to bed and switched off by itself after the alarm sounded 7 hours later. THE PHONE WAS HOT TO TOUCH and zero battery remained. No background apps running.

Apple, please fix.

I just charged my iPhone7 and in 3 hours battery has 15%

i just watched 15 minutes of video.

Battery healthy shows 85%

All this was after updates!!!

this is critical problem, I cannot use my phone already !

Apple please change something!

please some optimization.

I installed 13.2 last night when the iPhone had 83% charge on display, then charged to 100% over night. took it off the charger in the morning and went to Starbucks, when trying to pay, the phone was out of charge and switched off. That is 20 minutes max to zero.

I updated to 13.2 yesterday and all appeared ok..

This morning my phone started getting hot and battery was draining fast, has done this twice so far today. Each time to do a hard reset to level turned off till it cools down.. Very very annoying..

I have this issue. iPhone XS battery drained before the end of the day without doing anything. Lost 20% in a hour. Same problem with my Apple Watch - battery use to last 2 days now it is empty by 5pm. Not good enough apple. Your quality is slipping. You need to fix this now.
