What app can be used to replace Quicktime 7 Pro?

I have upgraded to Mac OS Catalina. Now, I find that a frequently used and very useful application, Quicktime 7 Pro, will no longer function on my computer. What can I use in its place? Is there an upgrade available for Quicktime Player to give it the "pro" capabilities?

Apple never updated QuickTime 7 for modern use and after it was released in 2005 Apple knew they were not be going to update it.

They did with QuickTime X and it's what we have on Mac. Notice, too, that there are not any iPad or iOS updates to QuickTime and it is "baked in" to iOS.

You didn't lose any Adobe apps by updating to Mojave so I suspect your meant Catalina 10.15.

I don't think Apple or many people understand how much many of us lean on Quicktime 7 Pro for quick edits and playback and all sorts of things. There is no product before or since with the same level of functionality for quickly editing / trimming / looping / cropping / exporting / inserting bits of audio or video without having to jump in or out of an actual monolithic video editing program.

At this point I won't be upgrading to Catalina just to hang onto the old Quicktime 7 Pro for dear life and I'd be willing to crowdfund and pay for a replacement of it that worked exactly the same as the existing app.
