Changing family sharing organiser
Hi!
In my family we have 4 Apple IDs:
- 2 for both parents + 1 for my daughter, which we each use in our iPhones, with the standard 5GB iCloud plan
- 1 for the Mac, which is the one that we use for purchases in the store, and which hosts in iCloud all the photos and important stuff we have with a 200 GB plan
- I set up My Apple ID as the family organizer and I have my own iCloud subscription plan of 200 GB, which I do not use - I feel that this is one Apple ID too many.
I am getting a headache as I am trying to figure out how to simplify things. I would like that we could all share all our photos and purchases on our devices. My idea was to get rid of the Apple ID that I use on my phone and use instead the Mac's Apple ID as the organizer, both on the Mac and on my iPhone.
But I can't set up Family Sharing from the Mac's Apple ID, as I am rightly being told that this Apple ID is already in use for purchases in another family. Does it mean that the Mac is not part of the family even though we use its Apple ID for purchases? Should I remove all iPhones from the Mac's Apple ID account first, in order to start Family Sharing from scratch from the Mac?
I hope that is clear :-) and I would be really grateful for some expert advice.
Cheers,
Thomas
