text notifications and driving

I turned off the automated texting & driving settings so that the automatic response of “I’m driving” does not send when I receive a text while driving, but my phone still acts like it’s responding and does not notify me When someone has texted me. The push notification does not appear. I don’t get a notification on the home screen, either. Essentially my phone is acting as if it’s sent the automated “I’m driving” text but it hasn’t .. is this a bug? How do I fix this? I keep missing texts because I have no notifications when I’m in my car

Are you connected to your car via Bluetooth? Did you double-check in Control Center to ensure that Do Not Disturb while Driving icon is not on? Can you confirm that the iPhone is sending the DND text? If not, and you are connected via Bluetooth, what model car do you have. There have been reports of some new vehicles that have their own settings in Bluetooth that will disable notifications when you are connected to the car via Bluetooth and send their own notification. I was involved in a thread a week or so ago with a person with a new Nissan and that was the case.

Yes, I am connected to Bluetooth in the car. I used to get a notification on my car and also get the regular text notifications on my phone. I do not use do not disturb. I have checked to make sure that is off. It WAS sending the DND text “can’t talk I’m driving” immediately following the iOS update, but I turned it off.. now my phone still recognizes that I’m driving and “reads” the text message but doesn’t send the “I’m driving” text. I drive a 2017 Nissan Rogue. I went Into those settings on the car itself and turned off the auto reply too... Didn’t work.

did you figure out how to help the other Nissan person by chance?
