Mac iMovie 10.1.13 doesn't show iTunes mp3 audio

I cannot show anymore itunes audio in imovie 10.1.13.

My mp3 are on the notebook not in the cloud.

As suggested in some posts I resetted imovie deleting preference but nothing changed.

Yesterday I started using apple music for the first time.

Any suggestion?

Apple Music cannot be used in iMovie. First, it is a subscription service. Second, all songs in it carry copyright protection. Even downloading Apple Music into iTunes does not clear the songs of copyright protection. You can still purchase songs from iTunes, however, and these will be DRM (copyright protection) free.

My songs are stored in my ITunes library, they showed up since last week.

I already tried to redownloading imovie, but nothing changed.

Maybe I found the solution.

In the application support iLifemediabrowser library folder there were some plug-ins files that were probably corrupted.

After I restored them from a time machine backup, iMovie seems to work fine now.

Could it have been the reason why I coudn't show up the iTunes songs?

Thanks

iTunes was removed from the iLife package some years ago. The iLife iDVD and iPhoto apps have been discontinued and are no longer for sale. The Photos app has been bundled with the OS since Yosemite and is not part of iLife. I believe that iMovie and Garageband are the only apps left in iLife.

When you say that your Mp3 songs are stored on your notebook, do you mean that they are stored in a Finder folder separate from iTunes or that they are stored in your iTunes library? If they are stored in your iTunes library they should show up in the iTunes item in the iMovie sidebar, unless they are copyright protected. If they are stored in a Finder folder they wouldn't appear.

You might try redownloading iMovie.
