Unwanted repeating event shows up in iCloud Calendar but not in Apple Calendar

I have a repeating calendar event that I successfully deleted in Apple Calendar, but it still shows up in iCloud Calendar.

I’ve made multiple attempts to get rid of it in iCloud Calendar, which always end with this message: “Your changes to this event couldn’t be saved because of a server error.”

Any suggestions?
