iMac crashes on every sleep with Catalina

I continue to get a "your computer was restarted because of an error" any time my compute goes to sleep and I wake it back up. Doing my best to browse through the logs, it looks like it might be some kind of bug that has to do with using an external G-RAID TB 2 Raid drive. At the top of the log it calls out -

panic(cpu 0 caller 0xffffff801ee290b7): "IOSCSIPeripheralDeviceType00::setPowerState(0xffffff804e39aec0 : 0xffffff7f9f59918a, 4 -> 0) timed out after 102066 ms"@/BuildRoot/Library/Caches/com.apple.xbs/Sources/xnu/xnu-6153.11.26/iokit/Kernel/IOServicePM.cpp:5302

Any thoughts on how to fix this and prevent the constant shutdown and restarts?!

I have three Lacie Drives two D2 and one 2Big and they all crash my 2014 iMac 27inch running 10.15 and 10.15.1. You don't have to do anything just let the desktop sit there and it will crash and restart on its own. Tried better cables, attaching only one drive through the thunder port. What does work is if you restart in "Safe Mode" it will stay up as long as you need. However, safe boot disable the ability to insert SD cards and who knows what else.

Hey Erik Q,

If I understand correctly, you received an error message that the computer restarted because of an error. There are a couple things you can try that may be able to help. I would recommend you use this article to help troubleshoot the issue.

Same issue happen on me, LaCie d2 Prof 4Tb and Apple Thunderbolt display. Both connected iMac 18,3

Initially iMac pop up KP error of IOThunderboltFamily (Sleep transition timed out after 180 seconds), OKay, then I unplug the dispay port to external Apple Thunderbolt display monitor.

After few days, system pop up KP error of IOAHCIBlockStorageDriver (CommandTimeout! reallocated sectors = 0x0,). ThenI have to remove the external disk which using for timemachine.

I have no idea why apple product not support it own OS...

Disappointed .... deeply

I have this problem on a Mac Book Pro and it crashes every time it wakes up from sleep. There are no other devices connected. Apple support and development is becoming worse than Microsoft.

Hi, I have this identical issue that only started after upgrading to Catalina. I've submitted the crash reports for every time this happens, so assuming those are tracked by specific host, there should be some history there. The crash happens whether or not I have any apps open.

In this last crash, I was moving the mouse and accidentally hit the hot corner to invoke the screen saver, and my Mac crashed immediately. I'm installing 10.15.1 right now, so hopefully that might address this.
