MacBook Pro won’t boot properly

When I try to turn on my MacBook Pro (2019) it doesn’t do anything other than display a black screen.

The touch pad is responsive and after about 20 seconds the Esc key displays on the Touch Bar and the caps lock displays. I’ve tried resetting VRAM and SMC to no avail.

Verify your backlight is turned up on the display. If the SMC/NVRAM reset did not sort it I suspect you have an issue with the display.
