how to work between different versions of FCPx?

Hi,

I run a production company in Ireland. It's mostly just me students and freelancers.

The students generally handle building the project file and ingesting the footage, then generally I take it from there.

My Imac still works great but has an older graphics card so its incompatible with the newest version of FCPx 10.4.7. I'm stuck on 10.4.6 and now I can no longer open Libraries my students are making from newer devices running FCPx 10.4.7.

It's a huge pain does anybody have a workaround for this? That does not involve buying a new mac or an external graphics card (Crazy expensive).

Thanks,

Sean

Try having them export a computable library XML that you can import and then reconnect the media. They will have to work with external media and deliver that to you with the XML.
