Messages not syncing to MacBook Pro

Messages that show up on my iPhone SE and iPad mini are not showing up on my MacBook Pro. Everything seems to be up to date on all three devices. All three were purchased at different times in 2016. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? Thank you!

Good afternoon JeanAnn7648,

I understand you have updated your MacBook Pro to macOS Catalina, but the Messages app is not syncing between your computer and your two iOS devices. The first thing I would suggest is to restart all three devices to refresh them and re-establish an internet connection.

Then check your Message preferences on your MacBook Pro:

Change iMessage preferences in Messages on Mac - Messages User Guide - macOS Catalina 10.15

iOS 13.2 was released October 28, 2019. I would suggest updating your iOS devices to the most recent version of the operating system.

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If you need more space for an update

Update your carrier settings on your iPhone or iPad

Update apps or use automatic downloads

Messages in iCloud is a feature that uploads all of your messages to iCloud and automatically keeps everything in sync.

After you update your software, you may want to give this new feature a try. The resource below explains how it works:

Keep all your messages in iCloud

Enjoy your day!
