Recovering partially damaged FCPX library?

When I open a particular library it says: "The Library 'x' is damaged. The item 'xyz' could not be read." The item in this instance is a project in a Keyword collection. Every time I close and open the Library I get the same pop-up but a different project / Keyword collection.

So the Library is opening. But even though I can see that project/Keyword collection thumbnail - if I try to open it FCPX crashes.

I choose another project, which opens fine. But FCPX will not allow me to Export it out. It doesn't freeze, it just does nothing when I try to export.

The Library seems otherwise functional. How can I rescue it? My thought is to create a NEW Library on another drive, with a NEW Event, and then drag over all the folders & keyword collections to the NEW Library.

Any suggestions?

All ears, Ben

Another clue. I tried to consolidate the Library media to a different storage location ... to try and get all the media stored in the Library out to another folder (which is what I normally do, but somehow neglected to do on this show, or did I?). But I get this pop-up:

The file 'Lightshow Cache.fcpcache' doesn't exist.

And when I look in the 'Media' folder I see what look like a couple of backup 'Lightshow cache.fcpcache' files. I also see the standard Final Cut Original Media, Final Cut Proxy Media folders. With media IN them! Basically all the media from the production. I look at the Library file in 'Show Contents Mode' and all the Keyword collections are there as folders, and those small files called 'CurrentVersion.fcpevent' in each ... but, apart from one folder with a bunch of transcoded files, no actual Original Media files. Which is peculiar as the Library file itself is 2 TB. Which makes me more confused.

The Library seems set up to store everything IN the Library. But all the media files are stored in an external folder. It's as if FCPX got some crossed wires during the production ...
