Apple TV signing in issue in fire tv stick

After multiple steps this is what eventually worked for me.

1. factory reset the fire stick
2. before installing any apps, go check for fire stick software updates.
3. once it restarts go check again... For me there was a second update that had to finish downloading while I waited on the checking for update section.
4. Fire Stick will reboot on its own after the update.
5. do a restart of the Fire Stick AGAIN anyway. (Still haven’t installed any apps yet).
6. now go install the AppleTV app and proceed as you were before.

after doing all this I was able to sign in with no issues and start playing the AppleTV+ shows.

This was a culmination of about an hour or so of trying different things. These are the steps that finally worked for me.

I had the exact same issue you reported... This is what eventually worked for me. (Pay close attention to step 3 - You need to check for updates twice, after doing the reset and before installing ANY apps).

I had my Fire stick reboot to factory settings and now Apple TV is working. Still there is lot of scope for improvements. Like the home button doesn’t work when Apple TV is used. That is not how all other apps work.

Finally figured out what’s the issue. There is a small patch to the OS 5.2.7.2. This won’t be updated even when you do the factory resetting. Go to fire stick settings>My firestick>check for update>update and restart the stick. It will work.

It was definitely the Firestick. Mine needed to be updated more than once because I was so behind in updates. So just because you do an update once it may not work. Keep going back to updates and make sure it says it's current. As soon as I got to the last update I got right on to the app.

I didn't got this message but my screen stuck too wit the sign in page... so I don't own any apple products so I called. I did create an apple ID. So they told me to download on my android apple music so I did. Then I try on my tv with the fire stick and it worked.

Try deleting the Apple TV app. Make sure your Fire Stick’s firmware is at 5.2.7.2 and then reinstall the Apple TV app.

To check the firmware go to settings, my fire tv, About and check for update. Do this until all updates have been installed.

Here is the solution

What you need to do is exit the TV app, open the Settings app, select Device -> About -> Software Version and then press the Check for System Update button. What you will probably find is there is a new update available; seemingly the Fire TV is very slow at notifying users about the need to update the operating system.

When the update is found, the Fire TV Stick will start downloading the newest OS firmware automatically. Once the download is complete, press “Install System Update” to update.

After updating to the latest OS version, you can then go back to the Apple TV app and sign in again. The login process should now complete successfully.

Try signing from the settings option, not from the library option

Exact same thing happened to me. Did a factory reset on the Fire Stick and working perfectly now!

Resetting the fire stock did not work for me.

Fire T support says it is an issue with the App and not the Firestick. Can't the devs just fix the app instead of blaming the fire stick?

I own a second gen stick and have the same problem. Done all possible ways of uninstalling, factory reset etc. But no use.

The patch made a great difference. It now logs you in but fails during the two factor authentication.

This worked!
