Printer Sharing is Not Working; Error message: "Job Stopped on Server"

Printer sharing is not working, I get this error "job stopped on server". The printer, a Dymo LabelWriter 450, is plugged in by USB cable, and being shared by a Mac Mini (2018) running OS 10.14.6. From our MacBook Pro 15" (2017) we can see the Dymo LabelWriter, we can set it up, both in the printer setup and in the Dymo LabelWriter software so everything looks like it's working fine. Also when you print from the MacBook it looks like it's working, but after a time, in the printer spool, it says "job stopped on server."

We used to be able to print on this Dymo LabelWriter 450 using printer sharing on my old Mac Mini (2012), but the new Mac Mini stops the print job for some reason. I've re-installed the Dymo software on both computers to make sure they have the latest drivers, etc. to no avail.

Any ideas for other things to try would be appreciated.

Mac mini, macOS 10.14

Thank you! While, reseting the printing system did not fix the issue, the link to the "if you can't print..." help document had the following steps for removing printer drivers (see below). After removing the printer drivers on both machines and then re-installing them on both machines from a fresh Dymo installer; then setting up the printers, the problem went away. So installing the drivers didn't work, but removing the drivers first and then re-installing them seems to have cleared up the issue.

Remove printer drivers

If the issue continues on your Mac after resetting the printing system, take these final steps to remove any currently installed printer drivers. These steps don't apply to AirPrint printers.

  1. From the menu bar in the Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder. Type /Library/Printers/ and click Go.
  2. The Printers folder opens. Choose Edit > Select All, which selects all items in the Printers folder.
  3. Choose File > New Folder with Selection, which puts all of the selected items into a new folder named New Folder With Items. To save storage space, you can delete this folder.
