problem casting from macbook to chromecast

Hi All,

I would really like to cast my Macbook Air screen & system audio to my tv by using chromecast. But I just can't. I can cast my homescreen without any problems using the casting function in Chrome, but the audio isn't following and just plays on my macbook speakers.

I keep getting the notification, system-audio casting isn't supported.

I tried installing airfoil, but then the audio is cast without any problems, but then the screen isn't casting.

I have a Macbook Air 2019 - 256 GB SSD - running macOS Catalina

Tv is a philips ambilight 49PUS6501/12

Who can help me to solve this issue?

Never known MacBooks or iPads to connect to chrome cast direct.

If i want to play music on my home speakers via my AMP which is connected to my chrome cast device and passes through a DAC i install the google chrome browser on my MacBook Pro. The chrome software sync's my Apple iTunes music playlists. The playlist then commands Chrome to play the music but the source files are from the internet and not from my computer. Any other content that is available via the chrome browser works as well. Youtube videos will not be in sync. But music is fine.

Hope that makes sense.
