Mac OS Update 10.15.2 breaks internet connection

My computer was working fine until I updated to Catalina 10.15.1 from 10.15.0. Now, I cannot load web pages in Safari or other browsers. Ethernet connection shows connected in System Preferences > Network. Any ideas? Thanks!

Easier said than done! :-) You must switch off NetBarrier to get Internet connectivity, then update NetBarrier. To switch off NetBarrier, if you have Intego in your menu bar drop down the menu, select NetBarrier, then "Turn Protection Off." There might also be a way to do this from Intego Preferences but I can't find it.

Then you can run NetUpdate, restart on Mac, and I'm getting 900 Mbps connectivity :-)

Intego has a support page about this problem.

Luckily I have an Ethernet cable connector for my MacBook Air 2014. I had to update Intego NetUpdate first, then update NetBarrier. If you have to use WiFi it sucks that you have to disable your protection. In future,I will update Intego first then wait for a few weeks after early adopters of Mac Updates have said all is ok. Terrible experience. Trying to apply for jobs. Not helpfulApple!
