Can I make an eight hour recording with Quick Time on my 2010 MacBook Pro?

Hi all,

I would like to make a audio recording while I sleep. Will Quick Time be able to record an eight hour stretch of a recording if set to the lowest quality recording? I have a mid 2010 MacBook Pro. Thanks much.

I do not know if it is able to do this, but the other concern is: you best have infinite empty space on your drive - an 8 hour video is going to grow to an unmanageable size and your device may not be able to handle that while trying to open it.
