Can your raid be connected via USB?

If so, that might allow you keep sleep functionality while we wait for a fix from Apple.

Try to remove the put your hard drive to sleep and see in the next few days if any improvement.

I also re-enable TRIM on my 3rd party SSD too. Maybe that helped. No kernel panic since then.

Maybe it is the EndPoint Security causing the Kernel Panic?

I had the same problem. Tested everything. Nothing worked. I fixed it creating a new user account. No more problems after that.

I’m having a similar problem on a Late 2015 27-inch iMac with a Mobius 5 bay enclosure connected by Thunderbolt.

The panics happen when I’ve been away from the iMac for a while, and come back to the login screen after a reboot.

As a workaround, I’ve told the iMac not to sleep drives, and not to sleep when the display is off.

No panics yet, but it’s only been an hour. I’ll update this reply if my workaround helps the situation.

Norton released a new build today. The problem of kernel panic disappeared for me having of functions of Norton active and PowerNap ON/HD Sleep ON.

Yes, that's true, and some people just update with the 10.15.3 combo and all is OK. However these kernal panics have many causes and some of these "crash threads" can get to 80 pages long trying to solve 10 different causes with just one remedy. You need to try them all unless you can read KPs intelligently.

I’m seeing that deselecting put disks to sleep helps for some people. It didn’t help on my system, unfortunately. So there seem to be multiple variables.

I'm also getting the same problem on 27-inch 2019 iMac with two OWC internal SSD and two external daisy-chained OWC thunderbolt drives. Happens when I am away from Mac for awhile. I will turn of drive sleep and see what happens.

Um, yeah, on my 2019 27" iMac I started getting kernel panics when my external Akitio Thunder3 RAID Station Thunderbolt enclosure is plugged in. Doesn't matter if I turn off hard drive sleeping or computer sleeping, it still panics very frequently. For now I'm putting my drives into USB enclosures until Apple sorts this out. Luckily, I'm just doing JBOD in that enclosure.

I suffered through this for several days. Catalina is just not ready for prime time and is a mess. Called apple support and after the usual stuff , start in safe mode, reset stuff.. the bottom line was to uninstall catalina. Very annoying.

While I was at it I ended up doing a dual boot and reinstalled mojave on one partition and windows 10 on another. Windows 10 is a far more superior OS and I never had crash problem like I had with Catalina. Will use mojave when I need to use facetime etc for apple ecosystem of apps and know that can bank on windows then macOS crashes.

Sleep panic is still happening for me with 10.15.2.

Since this thread started, I’ve bought a 16-inch MacBook Pro, and it also panics on sleep with my Thunderbolt 2 drive enclosure connected via a Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter.

It’s a Mobius Pro 5C five drive enclosure, with five 4TB Toshiba drives concatenated into a single volume via JBOD. I’ve tried both APFS and macOS extended journaled formatting with sleep panics in either case.

Mac Pro 2013 and LaCie Thunderbolt 3 raids : MacPanic; MacMini (came in monday) with Lacie Thunderbolt 3 raids : MacPanic. I spend more than 4 x 1hr with level 2 tech in Montréal and i believe they are not aware of the problem... nor of any shadow of a solution. It happened With Catalina 15.0, 15.1 and 15.2. Will try no sleep solution...

So another update. Yesterday I installed 10.15.3 beta (through 10.15.0) on an external drive cleanly and went through the day with my thunderbolt drives no problem. This morning I'm upgrading my main Mojave install to 10.15.3 beta (again, with 10.15.0 in between) and so far it seems stable. Crossing fingers....
