Trying to import a clip into FCPX, I get the message "There is not enough disk space available at the selected destination. Please choose another one or clear some space." There are over 200GB available on my hard drive, so don't understand this.
How do I resolve?

You must update the software. Log in to the App Store and check that the application is listed in the Purchased page. If it is move the your version to the trash and redownload to get the current version from the store.

The files aren’t stored in the application, which is separate software from the libraries or media.
Please give complete system specs, OS version and FCP version.
System specs: 246GB left on 1TB drive, with 16GB memory. Running Catalina 10.15.1
FCPX v. 10.4.1 No recent updates have shown up in my queue.
thanks. Wonder why I never got the notice to update? Also will I lose all the files I currently have stored in the program? Or will they repopulate when the newer version is downloaded?
