Updated to Catalina and now I can't import new clips to iMovie

Hi, I updated to Catalina and now I can't import new clips to iMovie. It says there is not enough space at the selected destination - but there is TONS of space. It won't even add an 8mb clip. Any solutions out there? I'm just trying to make a dinky family video...

Redownloading iMovie will cure the “not enough space” problem. Drag iMovie from the applications folder to the trash, but don’t empty the trash. Open the app store and sign in. Click on your name at the bottom of the app store side bar to open your account. You will see a list of your purchases, iMovie among them. Download iMovie from there, If you are not able to download, drag your old iMovie from the trash and replace it back in the applications folder.
