Triple-Click Not Showing Accessibility Shortcuts in iPadOS

Greetings:

Ever since I’ve upgraded my 2nd gen iPad Pro to iPadOS, I have been unable to display the Accessibility Shortcut options when I triple-click on the Home button.. When I try to triple-click on the Home button, more often than not I would get the Expose window with opened apps. I even tried choosing the option to slow down the clicks, but no go.

I know that if I had a 3rd gen iPad Pro, I could use the top button instead. As it is, not sure if it’s a bug or if I’m missing something else.

Please advise; thanks.

This is still not working for me. I checked each click speed option from Default to Slow to Slowest. No matter the speed that I do the triple-click, the shortcuts still do not pop up on the screen. If I start clicking too fast, two clicks out of three will bring up screen Expose.

It would be way easier if the button to enable/disable the shortcuts were left alone for devices that use the Home screen. It's been frustrating; it's working on my iPhone 11, but not my iPad Pro.

I'm open to other suggestions; thanks.

Okay, I finally figured it out.

I checked my iPhone 11, which is a swipe device and does not have a home screen, and I found that the desired items in Accessibility Shortcuts have checkmarks next to them. Returning to the iPad Pro, there were none. I figured out that by clicking to the right of each item, I was able to select each. Then after going to the Home screen and triple-clicking the Home button, the Accessibility Shortcuts window finally popped up.

In re-reading Apple's directions on its support site, the part that read:

  • "Set up Accessibility Shortcut: Go to Settings  > Accessibility > Accessibility Shortcut, then select the features you use the most."

I would clarify to include something like, "Tap to the left of the feature you'd like to use; a checkmark will appear," or something like that.

Anyway, I'm good to go. Thanks!
