Catalina has issues supporting MAC MINI with HDMI TV devices and my Philips TV 42PFL7422D/37. This device worked fine with all previous versions of Mac osx. The device Catalina chose was for a 29 inch Philips TV which is incorrect and does not work at all with Catalina
I use most of my older TV's as HDMI monitors and all have worked fine previously with all versions of OSX with the exception of Catalina. I needed to set the picture setting to unscaled in TV picture settings which solved this issue, however this setting was not required in any previous versions of OSX.

What issues? Your TV is over 12 years old = obsolete HDMI and unsupported. Still, let’s give it a shot. Post details of the problem, please.
