Can I make iTunes play only 1 song at a time?

I like to make Music Trivia quizzes. With Music Trivia you don't want your player to go on to the next track on its own, you may want to repeat a track before going on. So what I want to do is have iTunes play tracks ONLY when I click on them. Currently on iTunes Version 12.9.5.5 on a 2019 MacBook Air.

Is there a setting in iTunes that will do this? If not, does anyone know of an alternative player that will access my iTunes Library's audio clips?

Thanks a lot,

Use a playlist for the content that you want to work with. Select all of the items in the playlist and uncheck them via the context menu, or cmd-click any checkbox in the songs view to check or uncheck all items. Unchecked songs are ignored in normal track to track playback so if all songs in the active list are unchecked iTunes will only play the selected item and then stop.
