How do I create a playlist in Apple Music to use on my new HomePod?

I run an iMac with MacOS 10.15.1. I just bought an Apple HomePod and subscribed to Apple Music when I set up my HomePod. I set up my HomePod using my iPhone 7. I want to create playlists using my iMac and be able to ask my HomePod to play these playlists. Where do I start?

See Turn on Sync Library with Apple Music - Apple Support. Playlists you make on your computer become available from your iCloud Music Library in HomePod and other computers or devices where sync library is enabled.
