date and time won't set automatically

iOS 13 unable to obtain date and time automatically. I'm unable to select a time zone, it just has the circle "thinking/loading" icon constantly spinning. I have tried to switch back and forth between setting manual and automatic. Tried resetting my phone.

Add this issue to the list of other iOS 13 issues I have, like double everything with microsoft email in the native iOS mail app and screen rotation getting stuck. How did iOS 13 pass beta? Thanks for the memojis.

Hello, klouded.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I understand that you're unable to set Date & Time automatically. I'd like to help and you've done some great steps to troubleshoot this issue. However, this feature may not be available, check out this article: Get help with the date and time on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

"The option to turn on Set Automatically might not be available with all carriers or in all countries and regions. If the device has a Screen Time passcode, then the option to turn on Set Automatically will be dimmed, or grayed out".

Cheers!

Hey, klouded.

Thanks for getting back to us with an update on the issue. When you mentioned you reset your iPhone, what kind of reset did you do? Was it by going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings: Return iPhone settings to their defaults

"Reset All Settings: All settings—including network settings, the keyboard dictionary, the Home screen layout, location settings, privacy settings, and Apple Pay cards—are removed or reset to their defaults. No data or media are deleted".

If this still doesn't resolve the issue, make sure to have a current backup: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Then follow these steps to restore your iPhone back to factory settings: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings Don't restore from your backup yet, verify that the issue does not persist by setting your iPhone as a new device.

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup

Cheers!

Hello, klouded.

Since this may be a software issue, try reinstalling the iOS using this article as a reference. Before doing so make sure to have a current backup:

If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

On step #4 be sure to choose "Update" to reinstall the iOS without erasing data. If this step doesn't resolve the issue, use the steps provided earlier to restore to factory settings.

Best regards.

Hey i_rina,

Thanks but that doesn't solve the issue. I've used the "set automatically" feature for date & time since iOS 4. The issue is something to do with iOS 13. After I installed 13 and each update to 13.2.2 the date & time will not set automatically. As I mentioned, there's a "thinking/loading" icon constantly spinning and the date & time set and change incorrectly. I have to turn that feature off and pick the time zone manually, which works fine but when I travel I just now need to remember to change it accordingly.

Thanks!
