mac mini hdr

Does mac mini 2018 support 4k hdr (10 bit color) display to 4k hdr tv. I see that it has only hdmi 2.0 output, so for hdr is it must to have hdmi 2.0a? Or can hdr be supported through Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) output? and also if macos catalina has some impact in regards to hdr on mac mini?

Connect 4k@60 display to 2014 macbook pro retina 15 Hello, I am using a 15 inch macbook pro mid 2014 with internal GPU. I have a 4K LG tv that I use as my monitor. It has HDMI 2.0 ports that work with my desktop 4K@60hz. I just bought a miniDP (thunderbolt 2) adapter to HDMI 2.0, which should support 4K@60. But I am still only getting 4K@30hz. Are there things that I could do to make this work? btw, I am on the latest version of macos Big Sur. Thanks in advance Robbe

Can I use the thunderbolt 4 connector on the MacBook Pro 2021 to output 4K 120Hz. So I know the HDMI port is HDMI 2.0 Specs with a max of 4K@60Hz. I was wondering if I could use the Thunderbolt 4.0 to use with my LG C1. MacBook Pro 2021 M1 Pro

The short answer is no, HDR is not supported on the mini ‘18.

From the Catalina spec:

High Dynamic Range (HDR) video playback is supported by the following Mac models:

MacBook Pro (2018 or newer)
iMac Pro (2017)
Mac Pro (2019) with Pro Display XDR

It’s an OS issue, eGPU won’t help.
