New iPhone 11 pro - earbuds microphone problem

Hello,

Last week I bought a new iPhone 11 pro and during the week I noticed people couldn't hear me when I was calling them using the original earbuds (which I always use when calling). I had to talk into the phone's mic while the earbuds where in before they could hear me. There is no problem using the mic for voice memo's for example, then it's perfectly clear.

So I went back (on Apple's advice) to the shop and they gave me another new set of earbuds and a new simcard. Rebooted everything but still no succes. Then later today when nothing worked they replaced the entire phone since it was only 5 days old.

But now after hours of reinstalling everything I STILL have the problem. It's very annoying and I am not sure anymore if I have had two broken sets of new earbuds or two broken brand new iPhone 11's. What should I do next?

Hi,

Even I am facing the same issue. When speak over handset mic it’s working fine. Where as my earphone mic is having some issue, opponent are unable hear me properly. They complain every time that I am speaking from far. That means it is taking my voice from handset mic not from my earphones mic. This I tested by bringing my handset close to my mouth even though I am wearing the earphones. My colleague also facing the same problem with his 11Pro model.

Looks like it’s a software issue & also it’s a global issue. Apple has to release a new s/w immediately to mitigate this problem. It is really annoying issue for the very expensive phone.
