I'm trying to use Time Machine to restore my lost bookmarks and toolbar in Firefox, but each time I say to replace the plist for an earlier time, nothing appears when I click on Bookmarks. What am I doing wrong?

I've solved my own problem using Seagate Backup instead of Time Machine.
FWIW, you might want to set up Firefox sync. It will restore bookmarks, favorites etc. whenever you install a new version of Firefox.
I explained in my question that I was using Time Machine, but it was still leaving Bookmarks blank, so you haven't given me any useful steps. I've solved my own problem by using Seagate Backup instead.
You only said you attempted to restore the plist file, not the complete app. My suggestion was spot on and perfect.
