I purchased my AirPods Pro few days ago and noticed that the lid it can shift left and right along the hinge and kind of creaks if you do it. Not sure if it’s a defect on my unit or just the build quality.
I already changed mine once at the Apple store and the new pair has the same issue.
People who have bought the AirPods Pro, do you have the same problem?
Update and happy new year people. So apple and i had a little chat and they said that loose lid is a quality issue and it is not possible that in any way consumer could have caused it and yet my airpods are out of warranty they are willing to provide me with a new free of cost replacement case i argued that i am not the only one affected and that these are 250$ airpods and if this is an apple issue you cannot charge another 100$ for a quality issue which worsens overtime. Hope this answers everything.

**** it this not right man!! I paid €279 for the AirPods and exactly when I opened the case I noticed the defect they have.. who manufactured this? Huh that is **** it makes a very weird sound, it didn’t bother them??? **** if Steve Jobs is still alive and he notices the defect the air pods pro have they will be all fired.. fix the CASE and give the people the premium quality. I MEAN THATS WHY THEY CALLED PRO right?
Same lid disappointment here. Definitely not up to the quality we expect from a £249 Apple product. Apple, please solve this lid overlook, recall the current charging cases and swap them for everyone in this thread.
I have the same issue, still really disappointed in Apple that at the $250 price point and being branded with the “pro” name something like this side to side lid movement and the spring sound whilst opening it
same issue loose lid moves right and left with a sound. Took this to Apple authorised store iCare Adyar Chennai, they didn’t even consider this as a issue and refused to take it for replacement or service. Felt really worst. Didn’t expect Apple doing this. I thought their extra cost on their products provides extra care to customer service but this proves “NO” . This is really creating dissatisfaction in Apple products. Feel like moving to other brands.
Wow I just got mine today Saturday October 3,2020 and the loose lid was the question I googled and all of you guys popped up well this comforts me to a degree so I can see it’s not coming off it’s just I have budget brand earbuds and the case lid is firm and solid but I’m loving these pros honestly though.
Hey i asked for them to replace and they said yes and i did their authorization thingy but the email said this and i had an argument with apple and had to eventually cancel my case replacement before they cancel very disappointed Tim cook is probably not looking at this willingly so apple can make more money with replacements.
They reffered in the email the that if their repair team finds that airpods case is unrepairable as they are out of warranty they will charge me a sum of 105$ or i could go with getting my old case back and sending back the new one. And this phrase got me worried and i had to clear this up!
OMG!! Wow i’m embarrassed. they have been working correctly the entire time. it was simply operator error. having learned how to use the computer rims i don’t know if i like it or not. seems to be harder than just tapping like the 2nd gems were. i may still exchange them and go back to the previous model.

I have the same issue. I just bought them a day ago. My old series 2 Air pods don't have this issue at all.
Did their replace your unit for free, or did they charge?
