AirPods Pro Case Lid Loose

Update and happy new year people. So apple and i had a little chat and they said that loose lid is a quality issue and it is not possible that in any way consumer could have caused it and yet my airpods are out of warranty they are willing to provide me with a new free of cost replacement case i argued that i am not the only one affected and that these are 250$ airpods and if this is an apple issue you cannot charge another 100$ for a quality issue which worsens overtime. I went to the local Apple Store and all their demo models have loose lids as well. Guess its common and Apple doesn't seem to care at this point. Hopefully, riding around in my pocket for a couple of years, at least, doesn't make it an issue!

Apple told me it was normal to have a little movement side to side as long as it functions properly than I would just keep em

Got my AirPods Pro today, had the loose lid issue. Found this thread and realized that even after a year out, it’s just something that is in the design, not a defect so to speak.

I have the same issue. Lid is moving right and left and hinge is giving strange creaking sound. This shouldn't be the case for the product in this price tag. I raised it to that Apple and got the case replaced but the second one has the same behavior. Looks like the first series were produced in hurry and quality control closed their eye to this. Disappointed from the quality presented by Apple nowadays.

I just checked mine, and it seems to do the same thing.

Mine does same. Seems like they all do as using single hinge to open and close

mine does the same, it moves left and right just a little. Glad I’m not the only one. I got Apple care. If it ends up getting really bad I’ll replace them.

I’ve had both the original and pro airpods and I’ve had the same issue although I believe this isn’t an issue it is just the way it’s built.

Yep, they ALL clearly have the same issue - premium price, premium performance but sadly not premium package / feel.....

It’s just a crappy bunch their defected you can get apple to send a replacement

Actually yes the lid gets loose as per time it’s better to get them changed before warranty runs out so the lid is not very susceptible to damage!

I don't think it is intentional it is just crappy batch they released. We shouldn't accept this and agree it is normal. This is premium product and all efforts should be taken to release it manufactured with the highest standards. I already replaced my unit but received another with same defect. Maybe in couple of weeks other batches will have better quality but for now there is not much we can do than wait and try to get it replaced in some time.

I purchased my AirPods Pro few days ago and I noticed the same problem. The lid is moving and the hinge is giving a creaking sound. It feels like it will break. Disappointed from this quality! I am happy with my AirPods Pro but not with that creaking sound on the lid.

I hope Apple will fix this issue

Noticed the same problem with my AirPods Pro right out of the box. Apple should definitely recall the cases and give replacements. Highly unsatisfied with the build quality, especially considering that it has a pretty hefty price and my old AirPods did not have any kind of issue. Apple is known for their high-standards in build quality. So disappointed with the AirPods Pro.
