I purchased my AirPods Pro few days ago and noticed that the lid it can shift left and right along the hinge and kind of creaks if you do it. Not sure if it’s a defect on my unit or just the build quality.
I already changed mine once at the Apple store and the new pair has the same issue.
People who have bought the AirPods Pro, do you have the same problem?
Update and happy new year people. So apple and i had a little chat and they said that loose lid is a quality issue and it is not possible that in any way consumer could have caused it and yet my airpods are out of warranty they are willing to provide me with a new free of cost replacement case i argued that i am not the only one affected and that these are 250$ airpods and if this is an apple issue you cannot charge another 100$ for a quality issue which worsens overtime. Hope this answers everything.

Since Apple is not monitoring this forum, can anyone who is unhappy from case quality released leave feedback on Apple's feedback page about this. If enough people do, Apple may notice that there is an issue and offer replacement program.
They did absolutely nothing. I just got my second pair after the first ones had a lot of glitches on the left pod and the case had the issue. Fresh out of the box and they still haven’t fixed the issue. Guess they just don’t care.
so i called apple yesterday and told me they could send me a new charging case and a box so i can return my defective one. BUT, there is a catch: they told me i had to leave a 90 dollar deposit in case they conclude that my original case isnt defective at all. in case they find its defective, they would give me the 90 dollars back.
the lady who took my call told me that there was no option of getting my money back if my case wasnt considered as defective and i wanted to have it returned to me
Yes, pls write your feedback on Apple.com/feedback regarding this issue (as suggested by the customer care executive) which I did today.
Drawback in India is that these are authorised dealers and not apples owned sales and service. if in US Apple has a policy to replace they can’t treat it differently in India. I guess we as customers need to voice it out until it reaches the designated authority.
Hey! I bought my airpods pro on the black friday 2020 and I had opened it and just noticed the top part of the case that flips is LOOSE. If I bring it to the apple store im not sure if they can fix it for me, but this is completely unacceptable. I can move the top case left and right like its about to fall apart and its unhinged? Very dissapointed.
ok after like 2 month’s apple refunded me the 100$ they took as the sales person for promised me a free replacement and after they check the call records they were like okok we will make a one time exception so all and all finally got a pair of airpods that work and a case lid which does not wiggle. Out of warranty ofcourse

This is what happened to mine. I bought mine on Amazon and fortunately, they are replacing but it won’t get here until Jan. 30th. This is a nuisance because I have to send them back this month. I’ll be without for some time knowing that I’ll probably get the same thing in return. I’d be surprised is Apple does anything.
I have the same issue. Lid is moving right and left and hinge is giving strange creaking sound. This shouldn't be the case for the product in this price tag. I raised it to that Apple and got the case replaced but the second one has the same behavior. Looks like the first series were produced in hurry and quality control closed their eye to this. Disappointed from the quality presented by Apple nowadays
this is not a defect..It has a tiny gap at the left and right edge of the hinge for making it smooth to open and close..If it has no gap and tight build the lid will become hard to open and close..I hope you understand
I had the exact same problem on the first day I opened them. They swivel from side to side a bit and it feels like it will get worse to the point of it possibly breaking one day. For the price I expected more. I saved up all my allowance for 4 months😭The swivel from side to side makes them feel cheap.☹️
i received my pros yesterday and noticed the same problem. It feels like the lid is going to open when I place it in my pocket. Upon further inspection I noticed that it shifts back and forth and seems loose.
Bought mine on Amazon and had the same issue. Returned them only to get another pair with the same issue.
I went to the Apple store. I have Apple care too and they said that the loose lid is considered an aesthetic damage. That mean is not covered by Apple care.
I think your plan won’t work.
