Can't login to iTunes music and apple TV on macbook

I just changed macbooks and all is great except my apple ID can't seem to login to the apple TV app on the macbook as well as the music "itunes" app. I also notice it doesn't try to 2-step authenticate me. It just seems to accept the login but nothing happens. In the apple TV app, it moves from "library" to "watch now" and I still can't access my library.

As a note, my apple ID password has letters, numbers and a capital. I do remember many years ago having login issues on apple TV devices if the password for apple ID didn't have a minimum requirement...I'm wondering if apple has changed the requirements and I need a more complicated password.

The community's help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello jgoose19.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. I understand that you’re unable to login to Apple TV app and iTunes on your new Macbook Pro. You have two-factor authentication enabled and don’t receive the code. Your login appears to be accepted but you’re not permitted access. I’m happy to help.

Please restart your Mac. Once your Mac has fully restarted, are you able to login in as expected. If not, are you able to login here: Manage your Apple ID - Apple

If you’re still unable to login, please use a test user account to see if you’re able to login here: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac - Apple Support

Take care.
