How to use Touch ID on desktop while computer is closed

Hi,

I am planning on setting up a workstation with my 2018 MacBook Air, which I typically use as a laptop. I also use the Touch ID for unlocking my computer which is fast and efficient.

Is there a way to set up an external fingerprint sensor for use? Or will I have to dread entering a password?

Thanks,

A

Hi,

I think you have to type your password when lid is closed.
