App store says updates available but Pages, Numbers, Keynote updates won't download

The app store usually only gives notice about compatible updates, and my Mac is on Mojave and already has versions 8.2 of Pages, Numbers, and Keynote. I click update all, get the little spinning circles, and then....nothing, back to 'update' being offered but not actually updating.

So.....what might be blocking downloads when I click 'update all' for these apps to update?

I am signed into my AppleID account; my internet connection supported download of microsoft updates earlier today no problem, and Speakeasy shows a little better than average download speed (14 Mbps).

I'd tried one by one before, no improvement. But putting apps in the trash and trying again under 'purchased' instead of 'updates' seems to be working. Thanks!

I rarely use these apps because workflow compatibility with Windows users means I'm primarily using office suite, but I want to keep access to them for times when they're the easier way to go with something.

I goofed and hit 'this solved my question' while I had a limited view of the screen and accidentally credited my reply instead of your comment. I hate that I can't edit this!

Try updating the apps one at a time.

If that doesn't work, delete the app and redownload it. You will get the newest version.
